Frequently Asked Questions, Referrals, and Fees

  • My opening hours are:

    • Wednesdays 4 pm - 8 pm

  • You do not need a referral to come to therapy, however at this point in time, I am only accepting referrals with a mental health care plan (MHCP).

You may wish to contact your GP or psychiatrist to discuss a referral via a MHCP. The MHCP entitles you to a rebate from Medicare for up to ten sessions per calendar year, depending on your need.

The MHCP can be addressed to myself specifically, however this is not necessary if the referral has been unused. At the time of, or before your appointment, you will need to provide both a MHCP and a letter of referral, to enable eligibility for a Medicare rebate.

Rebates for therapy consultations may be available depending on your insurance coverage. Please contact your insurer directly to check your eligibility.

  • Initial and subsequent in hours session cost is $250 for a 50-minute appointment.

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or psychiatrist, Medicare will provide you a rebate of $141.85 (out of pocket expense is $108.15, plus transaction fees) which I can lodge on your behalf.

Payment is due at the time of your consultation. Please note that accounts cannot be extended. While my fees are generally lower than the Australian Psychological Society's recommended rate of $311, I do not offer bulk-billing options.

  • Late cancellations significantly impact both the effectiveness of therapy and the availability of appointments for other clients. To ensure the best service for everyone, a 48-hour notice is required to avoid a cancellation fee. Please also note that Medicare rebates are not available for cancelled sessions.
